Equity, diversity and inclusion at Made Tech
At Made Tech, we know the best ideas come from a variety of voices, perspectives and backgrounds. That’s why we’re committed to equity, diversity and inclusion — creating a workplace where innovation thrives and every team member can reach their full potential.

Why EDI matters
Creating an equitable, diverse and inclusive workplace is not just the right thing to do – it’s crucial for innovation and success. By prioritising EDI, we’re building a stronger team, delivering better outcomes for our clients and contributing to a fairer society.
We know there’s always more to be done. In typical Made Tech-style, the learning is never complete and we’re continuing to iterate the process. We’re still learning and we know there’s always room for improvement.

How we support equity, diversity and inclusion
Diverse hiring practices
We’re committed to building a recruitment process that reduces bias and creates more equal opportunities. We know there’s always room for improvement and we’re taking steps to make our hiring process even more inclusive.

Highlighting support for reasonable adjustments early in the interview process
We want candidates to feel comfortable requesting adjustments that help them perform at their best – so we let them know this right at the start.

Using cross-functional interview panels
By involving a diverse mix of team members from different disciplines, we try to challenge any biases and ensure a more balanced hiring process. This also gives candidates a more accurate feel for what it’s like to work at Made Tech – collaborative, multidisciplinary and inclusive.
At Made Tech, We’re committed to inclusive, transparent processes that give everyone a fair chance to thrive. Our goal is to build diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve.

Reasonable adjustments
We’re committed to making the workplace accessible for everyone, whether remote, in-person or hybrid. Adjustments can be made at any time and may include:
- Flexible breaks
- Office layout changes
- Assistive software (such as text-to-speech, mind-mapping tools)
- Specialist coaching (memory, time management, communication, wellbeing)
To simplify the process, we’ve introduced a reasonable adjustments passport, allowing team members to document agreed adjustments without needing to renegotiate with each new project, role or manager.

Increasing representation for women in tech
We continue to focus on increasing women’s representation in tech. While there’s still more to do, we’re improving our approach through:
- Cross-functional panels to improve diversity in interview and promotion processes
- Candidate surveys to identify barriers for underrepresented groups
- Targeted outreach to recruit more women, particularly in senior cloud and engineering roles
- Diversity-focused contractor hiring through a third-party resourcer aiming for a 50/50 gender balance
- Gender decoder software to ensure job ads are inclusive and free from gender bias
EDI policies
As part of our commitment to create an inclusive and equitable workplace, we’ve got a set of policies designed to ensure fairness, transparency and support for all team members.
- Reasonable adjustments passport A streamlined process for recording agreed-upon workplace adjustments, eliminating the need for repeated discussions when changing projects, roles or managers.
- Parental leave policy Supporting our team members with flexible and inclusive maternity, paternity and shared parental leave options.
- Sexual harassment policy Clear guidelines on expectations for professional behaviour, how to report incidents involving Made Tech employees, contractors or client engagements and the steps we take to ensure a safe and respectful workplace.
- Bullying and harassment policy Defines unacceptable behaviours, the reporting process and reinforces our zero-tolerance approach to bullying and harassment in any form.
Partnering for change
Through a company-wide vote, we selected Tech She Can as our charity of the year, supporting their mission to close the gender gap by inspiring and educating young women in tech. We also run an 8-week mentoring program with Teach Her, providing direct support for women in the industry.
Additionally, we partner with organisations like Coding Black Females, and WomenHack, offering sponsorships, talks and grassroots initiatives to promote diversity in software engineering.
